2016-05-21

The Association of Palestinian Engineers in Europe participated in the Arab International Organization for the Reconstruction of Gaza, which was held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, last Saturday, May 21, 2016.

Eng. Ibrahim Abu Thuraya, President of the Palestinian Engineers Association in Europe, participated in the meetings of the Administrative Council of the International Arab Reconstruction Authority in its new session, as it approved the work plan for the new session, which included several points, the most important of which is the approval of a project budget for training unemployed Palestinian engineers and fresh graduates in The Gaza Strip, in order to gain practical experience and to increase their chances of finding work in the local market.

The council also decided in its plan to refer engineering works for reconstruction projects to the Gazan engineers in a move to combat unemployment within the segment of Gazan engineers, preserve their dignity and provide a decent life for them and their families.

The head of the Palestinian Engineers Association in Europe, Eng. Ibrahim Abu Thuraya, on the sidelines of the meetings of the Administrative Council of the International Arab Authority for the Reconstruction of Gaza, held bilateral talks with the President of the General Syndicate of Moroccan Engineers, Engineer Muhammad Issa, in the presence of members of the Syndicate’s Administrative Board.

Where the discussions focused on the mutual acquaintance between the two institutions and the means of joint cooperation between them to serve the Palestinian cause in general in the engineering field. The project of transferring expertise and remote employment also had the largest space in the discussions between the two parties. The discussion also touched on cooperation in transferring expertise from Europe to Morocco, and ways of networking between the union and its counterparts in Europe.

For his part, Eng. Abu Thuraya stressed the importance of meaningful networking between professional institutions, especially engineering, in carrying out developmental and developmental projects in a distinct, literal manner. He also explained that the Palestinian society has succeeded at the present time in establishing practical structures for coordination between professional institutions through the establishment of the International Association of Palestinian Institutions and Associations, as that grouping succeeded in coordinating many projects and relations between Palestinian institutions and international institutions.

These steps come in response to the proposals of a symposium gathering Palestinian engineers in Europe, which was held at the Palestinian Engineers Forum on the sidelines of the Fourteenth Palestinian Europe Conference two weeks ago in the Swedish city of Malmo.

Engineer Ibrahim Soraya confirmed in his speech to our website that the cornerstone of this project, which was laid at the Fourteenth Return Conference, was not a deadline for time nor slogans raised here and there, but it will bear fruit soon. By this, the Palestinian Engineers ’Association in Europe has fulfilled part of its promises that it is determined to convert theoretical plans into a concrete practical reality that will benefit the Palestinian people at home.

Finally, the head of the assembly, Eng. Abu Thuraya, thanked and gratitude for the positive steps and decisions that were reached during the meeting, stressing the need for networking between the Arab International Organization for the Reconstruction of Gaza and the Palestinian Association of Palestinian Engineers in Europe to accomplish those decisions on the one hand, and the General Syndicate of Moroccan Engineers on the one hand. Others, stressing the importance of joint communication to crystallize what was talked about, to reach the implementation of specific projects in it.
